Monster Mashup Vol. 01

I was one of the linework artists for

Grit City's comic book anthology, Monster Mashup Volume 01, doing linework for "Battle for the Belt".

Its a rather short comic, but it was fun to work with others on a large project.

Packaging experimentation with Somersby as the star.

The goal was to capture the look and feel of an Alice-in-Wonderland-esque world, with throwbacks to the purported British origins of the brand.

The FIXITKIT is a grab-and-go solution for those who don't want to spend so much time preparing their own home-made repair kits.

Grab one, chuck it in a bag and you are good to go.

THE

BROKE REPORT

The Broke Report is a concept for a website that allows users to tag and report local neglected areas that have fallen into disrepair, such as missing manhole covers, broken fences or even abandoned furniture.

The aim is to bring attention to these items and to alert the responsible parties and drive them into action through the power of the people.

ENJUNK

Enjunk is an experimental decorative typeface featuring robotic and mechanical units.

The typeface uses a pool of units that are pieced together to create individual characters, with alternate characters easily made at a moments notice.

NNAKAN is a board-game/card-game developed by myself and a partner, with the goal of celebrating Malaysian food culture and bringing people together.

The game is designed to be played in the gap of time between ordering your food and before it reaches the table.

I design foam dart blasters with Foam Knight, a small independent creator.

We design and produce hobby-grade foam blasters that cater to a wide range of audiences, from the more competitive end of foam-flinging to the more casual plinker.

The Foamknight XC was the first to be designed and produced (for both of us).

It takes a whole range of dart sizes, with the barrel being able to be swapped on the fly using a clever take-down system.

The RX is a small, pocket-sized break-action primed blaster.

 

It's great for plinking and having fun, and is a good entry point into the 3D-printed blaster space as a hobbyist.

 

An excellent first-choice for those who like to tinker.

The XE is our step into the mag-in-grip arena, with a moving plunger and fixed pusher rod.

With a comfortable grip and a subcompact form-factor, the XE is a great choice for those who want a primary, but cannot afford the space in the house for a full length blaster.

Battlebots
2020

Another informal project ; I completed a roster translation of all the combat robots that participated in Battlebots 2020. It was a great opportunity to practice character design, having to translate a mechanical design into a more anthrocentric one.

I have since gotten more involved with the Battlebots community as a whole.

Verskedu: Basic 

A two-week long project started on a whim. It is an almanac consisting of 20+ pages of lore and worldbuilding of a locale, going by the name of Verskedu. The booklet is done in black and white, with descriptions of people, places, culture

and technology.

I was pulled in to design the weaponry for this free online FPS game. The challenge was getting that cartoony look and feel whilst having a realistically proportioned player model to adapt the proportions to.

Overall I think the weaponry turned out well, and I'm always happy to add another pan-fed weapon concept to the online world.
